Hey, my name is carla

Carla Collins, Houston senior photographer and motherhood photographer, holding a Canon camera during a branding session.

Photographer, full-time accountant, mom of two, and the heart behind Carla Collins Photography.

Photography began as a creative outlet in the middle of a very full life. Between spreadsheets, motherhood, and the everyday chaos of raising little ones, I found myself craving something slower. Something intentional.

So I picked up my camera, not simply to pose people, but to preserve them.

The movement. The connection. The beautifully fleeting moments that often pass before we realize how much they mattered.

Today, I'm a Houston photographer specializing in senior, motherhood, newborn, and family photography. Whether I'm photographing a high school senior stepping confidently into the next chapter or a mother holding onto a season she never wants to forget, my goal is always the same: creating imagery that feels refined, natural, and deeply personal.

My sessions are never about perfection. They're about presence.

The in-between glances. Wind-blown hair. Open fields and big skies. The quiet confidence beginning to emerge in a senior standing on the edge of everything ahead of them. Tiny newborn fingers wrapped around a parent's hand. The laughter that happens between poses.

Because those are the moments that become priceless later.

When I'm not behind the camera, you'll usually find me in the kitchen surrounded by family, laughter, and requests for snacks I just bought yesterday. Cooking has always been one of the ways I love people best, and gathering people around the table feels a lot like photography. It's about slowing down, making space for connection, and preserving the moments that matter most.

Whether you're celebrating senior year, welcoming a new baby, or simply wanting to remember this season before it slips away, I'd be honored to tell your story.

Real life behind the lens

Because real life doesn’t pause behind the camera either

→ I'm currently balancing a full-time career in accounting while intentionally building the Houston photography business I once dreamed about during nap times, late nights, and the beautiful chaos of everyday motherhood.

→ I believe the best photographs feel like memories, not stiff portraits. The movement, the connection, and the in-between moments that someday become the ones you miss most.

→ Around here, life is usually loud, a little chaotic, filled with snack requests, homemade meals, baseball games, dance classes, and moments I already wish I could freeze forever.

→ I'm endlessly inspired by open fields, big Texas skies, soft light, quiet conversations, and the kind of moments that simply can't be posed.

MY HEART...MY FAMILY...MY WHY

Kind words from

I recently had the pleasure of working with Carla Collins for my son's one year old photos, and I couldn't be happier with the experience! Even with such short notice, she was incredibly professional and responsive, making the planning process a breeze.

On the day of the shoot, Carla came prepared with the best location scouted out along with the most adorable props to add the finishing touches. Her ability to capture candid moments of my son while navigating the unpredictable waters of photographing a toddler was impressive. Her talent and patience paid off in a perfect mix of natural and beautifully composed images that I will cherish for a lifetime.

I have received so many compliments on her work of not only my son's one year old photos, but also our Christmas portraits and newborn photos she has taken in the past. If you’re looking for a talented, passionate photographer who delivers stunning results, I wholeheartedly recommend Carla Collins Photography. I can’t wait to work with her again in the future!
